The Lump Sum for transferees is a specialised platform designed to facilitate clients relocating from one location to another. This platform enables users to access lump sum services and conveniently track the status of their payment dispersal throughout the relocation process.
Business
Requirements
Develop a user-friendly platform that empowers transferees to effortlessly request and access lump sum disbursements for their transfers. This comprehensive system should not only facilitate the easy disbursement of funds but also allow users to track all their transfers. Additionally, the platform should offer a secure and efficient way for transferees to input and manage their personal information.
Platform Objectives
Develop a platform that maintains visual consistency with current systems, minimising the learning curve for transferees.
Design a simplified interface, allowing transferees to view and manage all tasks upfront, recognising their time constraints.
Implement a scalable design capable of seamlessly integrating new features in the future, ensuring long-term adaptability and growth.
Research
The research was conducted step by step to understand the users, their needs, and pain points, providing a clearer understanding the requirements.
REQUIREMENT GATHERING
Collaborated with the product owner and the business team to identify gaps in the current system and gain insights into the scope of the new platform.
TARGET AUDIENCE
The target audience comprises employees who are frequent travellers and undertake short-duration work trips.
USER NEEDS & PAIN POINTS
Currently, employees lack the option to avail lump sum amounts lack the option for their transfers; instead, they can only access various benefits offered by the company. This limitation poses challenges, especially for transferees who relocate frequently and for shorter durations. To address this, there is a need for a solution that allows them to receive the lump sum amount.
Wireframing
The process started with creating rough sketches to visualise how the platform would look and work. A few different versions were made and showed to the product owner and business team for feedback.
Based on their input, we chose the best approach and proceeded with designing the platform.

Iteration 1
A stepper approach was inculcated in this iteration. Screen is divided into two sections and once the task on the left is completed, it is removed from the landing page. But this caused confusion as to where the section went.

Iteration 2
In this approach, a progress bar was used which indicated the progress of the users and then they could click on it which opened a modal and they could complete their steps here.

Iteration 3
Introduction of a simple CTA of "complete tasks is provided here. This leads users to another page which had all the steps laid out.

Visual Design
Once a flow for wireframes was finalised, we went ahead and created a basic design system to a component level which was then utilised to create the visual designs.

Responsive Design
The designs were created with a desktop first approach. These were then translated to mobile screen responsive designs for a seamless experience and the ability to access the platform from the user's mobile devices as well.
Learnings
Managing an entire account provided invaluable insights into navigating cross-functional team dynamics. Leading the seamless integration of a new feature into our established platform necessitated a comprehensive reevaluation, prompting a bottom-up reimagining of the feature and its entire workflow. This experience fostered a deep understanding of the intricacies involved, emphasising the importance of thorough planning and holistic execution.
